A poem for the weekend (and a goodbye)

"Nature" is what we see by Emily Dickinson
"Nature" is what we see -
The Hill - the Afternoon -
Squirrel - Eclipse - the Bumblebee -
Nay - Nature is Heaven -
Nature is what we hear -
The Bobolink - the Sea -
Thunder - the Cricket -
Nay - Nature is Harmony -
Nature is what we know -
Yet have no art to say -
So impotent Our Wisdom is
To her Simplicity.
Yesterday, we bid farewell to Ben's Grandpa Dennis. It was of course a very sad occasion, but it ended up being a nice day with family, sunshine and laughter. The ceremony was personal and full of love - it was more a celebration of his life, rather than a classical funeral.
The funeral took place on a green burial site, where instead of a tumbstone, each grave is marked with a tree. At the moment the trees are still young and fairly small, but one day there will be a large forest on thi site. Dennis' grave is next to his wife's beautiful oak tree. I like to think that the're happily reunited now and that their trees will grow towards heaven together.
